Void Interactive, the studio behind the tactical FPS game Ready or Not, has confirmed a security breach. Fortunately, no player or staff data was compromised. The breach, attributed to “critical vulnerabilities” in TeamCity’s cloud services for build management, resulted in the unauthorized access to “some” source code and upcoming project screenshots.

Reportedly occurring in March, the breach saw the theft of approximately 4TB of data, including builds for Ready or Not on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Ready or Not, which entered Early Access in December 2021 and reached version 1.0 in December 2023, faced controversy earlier due to a promised school shooting mission, leading its original publisher, Team17, to part ways with the project. Following this, Void Interactive proceeded with self-publishing.

Despite generally positive reviews, with a Metacritic score of 79%, the game has faced recent criticism for gameplay alterations and bugs in its 1.0 version.
